Stages based at Sweet Lamb and Hafren which are both names at the heart of British rallying heritage, however, the wind and rain on that weekend were enough to dispel any nostalgia! From the Newtown start the rally made directly for Hafren and two rounds of a compact three stage format. A broken drive shaft put paid to Trevor Godwin’s efforts and a lengthy wait for recovery ensued as the stage went 'live' for the second time almost as soon as it had closed following the first pass.
