Trevor and Ian completed SS1 and SS2, both at Mallory, but then the gearbox gave out! Of the 58 entrants thirty would retire during the event.
The event consisted of 23 mainly asphalt stages at Higham, Mallory, Merevale, Arbury and Bramcote using a number of stages up to four times.
